Welcome, Audio Explorer!
You’ve been selected for your keen sense of hearing. This guide will prepare you for your mission: to be an expert listener.
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It…
You are an audio detective. In each trial, you will hear a perfect, original audio track called the Pristine Copy. You’ll also hear several other numbered Samples. Your job is to listen carefully and rate how similar each sample is to the Pristine Copy on a scale from 0 to 100.
The Key Players in Your Test
The Pristine Copy
This is the gold standard. The original, untouched, perfect-quality audio. All your comparisons will be made against this track.
The Samples (1, 2, 3…)
These are the tracks you need to rate, selectable from a list. Some might sound identical to the Pristine Copy, others might have differences.
The Hidden Pristine Copy
Here’s a fun challenge! One of the numbered samples is identical to the Pristine Copy. Find it and confidently set its slider to 100.
How to Score Like a Pro
Use the Interface Controls
Your test screen shows a list of samples, a player with a waveform, and sliders for each sample. Click a sample to play it and use its dedicated slider to set your score.
A/B Compare is Your Best Friend
The best way to spot differences is to switch back and forth quickly between the Pristine Copy and a Sample. Your brain is excellent at detecting changes this way.
Listen for ANY Difference
Rate based on any artifact you hear. If it sounds different from the Pristine Copyโmuffled, distorted, tinny, etc.โthat’s what you score.
Trust Your Ears!
There are no right or wrong answers, only your perception. Listen, decide, and score confidently. Your unique input is incredibly valuable.
